The APOD team has been busy over these first cold months of 2023!

Our researchers in London and the Coastal West Country have continued to conduct participant observation and interviews with people receiving POD and their networks, as well as practitioners and advocates. Following Liana’s example, we are organising our interviews for analysis, drawing out key themes and messages.

Meanwhile, our London-based team is organising a fantastic line-up of events to take place throughout the Spring and Summer:

First, we are thrilled to announce our ‘Presentation of Findings’ event scheduled for September 18th, 2023 at SOAS University in London. We are planning a day of presentations and conversations, followed by a reception and exhibition of artwork inspired by experiences of Open Dialogue. The event is free and open to all – so mark your calendars!

Second, we are running a series of artistic workshops for those who have received POD and members of their networks. These will include two zine-making workshops and one visual art workshop, lead by experienced facilitators working at the intersection of art and mental health.

Third, we are opening a call for submissions of artwork related to Open Dialogue. We welcome anyone with experience practicing or receiving Open Dialogue to send in their art (visual media, poetry, writing or recording). With your permission, we will display these works at our September 12th exhibition and in an online gallery on our website.

For more information about any of the above, please email Milena at mw85@soas.ac.uk. You can download our Call for Artistic Submissions flyer here: APOD Art Flyer
